Spreader Rolls
Get the best possible spreading results for your product. Quality spreading is achieved by choosing the right equipment tailored to your material and the type of wrinkling issues encountered. MBC offers a range of four types of spreader rolls, each designed for specific configurations.
Curved Expanding Rolls or Banana Rolls
The most versatile of all spreaders, the banana roll or curved expanding roll eliminates wrinkles from your product.
It works by deforming the material and guarantees visible results. Commonly used in the paper, textile, and film industries.
The adjustable regulator lets you control the roll’s curvature for even more effective wrinkle removal.
- Operates by material deformation
- Most versatile option (humidity, corrosive environments, etc.)
- Multiple sleeve options or full stainless steel
- Variable or fixed curvature
Stainless Steel Slatted Expanding Rolls
These rolls work by stretching the material and are ideal for heavy and/or fragile materials. They do not deform the product, ensuring clean, precise spreading.
- Operates by stretching
- Suitable for heavy materials
- Optional slat coating choices
Cord Expanding Rolls
Also operating by material stretching, cord expanding rolls are ideal for soft materials like technical textiles or thick films.

- Operates by stretching
- Ideal for technical textiles and delicate materials
- Versatile (films, plastics, etc.)
- Multiple cord types available
Spreader Screws with Attached Spirals
These spreader screws complement expanding rolls by providing consistent tension, preventing the formation of wrinkles.
The added spiral cord ensures effective spreading even on thick products.
- Can be installed in place of a guide roll
- Customizable number and type of cords
- Can be used as either a spreader or an expander
- Available in free-spinning or motorized versions
Spreader Screws with Machined Spirals
Also used alongside spreading rolls, machined spiral screws maintain even tension and prevent wrinkling.
This type is best for delicate materials that could be marked by other spreaders.
- Can be installed in place of a guide roll
- Customizable groove depth and style
- Can be used as either a spreader or an expander
- Available in free-spinning or motorized versions
